📣Attention Elk Families!📣
Beginning with the 2025–2026 school year, a new statewide law—Arkansas Act 122, also called the "Bell to Bell, No Cell" Act—goes into effect in all public schools, including Elkins School District.
📵This means students will no longer be allowed to use personal electronic devices during the school day—from the first bell to the last bell.
🔌What’s Included?
Cell phones📱 | Smartwatches⌚️ | Tablets💻️ | Earbuds/Headphones 🎧️| Gaming devices🎮️
👀Anything not issued by the school for instruction falls under this policy.
📚️To follow the law, students must:
• Keep personal devices powered off and put away during school hours.
• Approved storage spots include the student's backpack, student locker, or student vehicle.
• Devices should not be used in classrooms, hallways, restrooms, the cafeteria, or study areas.
• Use school phones for emergencies (with staff approval).
☑️Some exceptions include:
• Emergencies approved by administration
• After-school activities
• School-issued tech for learning
• Medical needs or health-related devices
• 504/IEP accommodations
• Concurrent/college coursework
‼️Violations may result in devices being confiscated and disciplinary action as outlined in the 2025–2026 Student Handbook.
Let’s work together to help our Elks stay focused, limit distractions, and get the most out of every school day!💜
